It’s been the icing on the cake for the 2015 Mud House Single Vineyard Woolshed Sauvignon Blanc, winning the Trophy for its section, as well as its Gold medal.
A brilliant expression of the soils of the Woolshed Vineyard, in Marlborough’s Upper Wairau Valley, the combination of gentle clay based hillside slopes and alluvial flats that, along with Marlborough’s warm days and cool nights, create dream conditions for the perfect Sauvignon Blanc.
Mud House winemaker Cleighten Cornelius said the vintage of 2015 allowed for stunningly expressive flavours, from lovely warm days and cooler nights.
“This created beautifully defined aromas of nettles, tomato leaf and pert citrus notes combined with the overt tropical aromas of melon and guava; a perfect drop during the summer months,” he said.
The juicy acid structure and tell-tale textural minerality of this Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect match for seasonal delights of asparagus wrapped in prosciutto.
We are looking forward to rolling to the 2015 vintage of this Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc very soon.
