In August we attended the second annual Wine Auckland event, run as part of the Auckland Restaurant Month. It was a great chance to meet the locals and catch up with other wineries from around the country. We loved the new venue at Shed 10 - a refurbished warehouse next to the Devonport ferry terminal. Ben Glover, Mud House Group Winemaker, joined Nic Stock in the #PinotSmackDown. We reckon Ben pretty much came out tops with the punters, who were asked to rate our Claim 431 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir against another winery (we won't kiss and tell who that was).
Our friends at Junk and Disorderly Secondhand store in Northcote generously donated some really cool furniture and other bits and bobs for theour stand over the weekend. Nicole even allowed us to borrow her prized hare taxidermy pictured below.
The event was a great chance to bring our taste for adventure to Auckland. We're looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
