"Fleshy and appealing, with vibrant cherry and plum notes that have nutmeg and black tea flavors lingering on the finish. Offers good intensity and a velvety texture. Drink now through 2026." Wine Spectator, Oct 2016, 90 Points. Top 100 December issue.
This is a charming medium style, juicy, concentrated and full of energy. Lifted aromatics, redolent of white flowers, lead to a vibrant mouthful where yellow fruit notes (peach, mirabelle plum) hold sway. Softly textured, it would be a good match for a mild chicken rendang.
Judge's comments: This wine’s white flower, pear, ginger and fennel scents are refined and exotic. They promise a mouthful of intrigue and balance, and that is precisely what you get. The fruit concentration is exemplary, ensuring the sweetness (the wine is medium dry in style) never has the upper hand. “It’s pristine and sophisticated ,” noted Jane Boyle. “And I’d serve it with pulled pork and chutney.” No.1 Pinot Gris & 5 stars | CUISINE February 2016
Concentrated Riesling with appealing citrus/floral aromas. Medium/dry with an ethereal texture and impeccable balance. Very classy single vineyard wine from an excellent vintage. Gold Ribbon (awarded to only the top 10% tasted) 95 points - Bob Campbell
