Nev Gane is fifth generation of a Marlborough farming family. Born and raised on a sheep and cropping property in Marlborough, he initially trained as a butcher. Going back to his roots, he joined Mud House when the Woolshed vineyard was first developed in 2003. He was there from the beginning planting and nurturing the vines at our flagship award-winning vineyard in the heart of the Wairau Valley. When he’s not taking care of his team at work, Nev’s a keen hunter and fisherman. He’s a pretty obliging bloke and happy to help out on the hotplate at staff BBQs and when we’re really lucky, bringing along some of the spoils from his hunting trips.
"I'm 5th generation farming in Marlborough. The land, the people and the lifestyle are second to none here. I wouldn't swap it for anywhere else in the world. I've got all I need right here on my doorstep."
