DISCOVER OUR STORY
OUR ORIGINS
GLOBAL TRAVELLERS WHO FELL IN LOVE WITH THE LAND
WE'RE DEDICATED TO OUR ENVIRONMENT
Grazing
We graze sheep in the vineyards (natural lawnmowers), reducing tractor usage and providing organic matter.
Vineyards
The vineyards run mid-row crops such as Buckwheat, which encourages biodiversity and soil health.
Sponsor
We're a proud sponsor of Kaipupu Wildlife Sanctuary in the Marlborough Sounds. This 40Ha sanctuary is dedicated to restoring NZ natural Flora and Fauna in a predator free environment.
Volunteer
We volunteer annually on a native planting project - restoring the habitat of a wetland on one of our local vineyards.
WHERE IT'S CRAFTED
FROM THE PRISTINE SOUTH ISLAND OF NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand's best grape growing soils.
Dedicated to the Adventure
Our winemaking philosophy is to craft wines that are reflective of the soils they grow in; we aim to interfere as little as possible once the grapes arrive in winemaker hands.
CLEIGHTEN CORNELIUS
Cleighten is the Senior Winemaker for Mud House Wines and joined the Mud House team in 2012. After a decade of winemaking, Cleighten’s core focus remains unchanged, “to make the best wine possible!” He believes learning is the key, both experimentally and from others.
KRYSTAL PALMER
Our Winemaker Krystal has experience across many facets of winemaking. Red wine is Krystal’s passion, particularly a juicy pinot noir. “When I make Pinot Noir, it is in a hands-off fashion. With minimal intervention, the purity and elegance of Pinot Noir really shines through.
